Let’s know what is the story of Amalaki Ekadashi?
There is a story in the Brahmanda Purana – there lived a Chandravanshi king named Chaitratha in the Vedic city, he was a believer in religious work and served the subjects. Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras lived in his kingdom, including Anand. All worshiped Lord Vishnu and kept Ekadashi fast. When Amalaki Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month came, the king and his subjects kept a fast.
King Chaitrarath duly worshiped the Amla tree along with his subjects by establishing a full Kumbh in the temple. The king said in prayer – O midwife! You are Brahmo Swaroop, destroyer of all sins, hello to you. Accept our Argh. You are honored by Shriram Chandraji, I pray you, so destroy all our sins. The king and his subjects awakened at night after worship.
During this time there came a fowler, who was extremely sinful and vicious. He used to kill creatures to maintain the family. Disturbed by hunger and thirst, the Baheliya temple sat in a corner and listened to the importance of Shri Hari Vishnu and Amalaki Ekadashi. In the morning everyone went to their own house, so Fowler also went to his house. After some time B Helia died.
Amalaki Ekadashi 2023
Amalaki Ekadashi fasting and awakening led him to be born to King Vidurutha, he was named Vasurath. It had a splendor like the Sun, radiance like the Moon, forgiveness like the Earth, and valor like Lord Vishnu. He had a Chaturangini army and followed 10 thousand villages. No one returned empty-handed from his door.
One day the king went hunting, but in the middle forgot the route. Due to fatigue, he slept under a tree in the same forest. After some time some people came there and started talking about killing him. He said that this evil king has killed his family and taken them out of the country, so it should be killed. They attacked the king with weapons but with the blessings of Lord Vishnu, his hair was not deterred. At the same time, a divine woman was born from the king’s body. She was an interview for those attackers, she killed them all.
When the king woke up to sleep, he saw many people dead and said that who has killed these enemies? Who is my friend in this forest? He was thinking that there was an All India Radio – ‘O king! Who can help you in this world apart from Lord Shrihari? ‘ On hearing this Akashvani, the king entered his kingdom and reigned happily.
This was the effect of the fast of Amalaki Ekadashi. Those who observe Amalaki Ekadashi, succeed in every task and finally achieve Vishnuloka.
Amla tree’s spiritual side
It is believed that the Amla tree originated at the beginning of the world due to the special grace of Vishnu. There is a legend behind this. Brahma was born from the navel of Vishnu. Once, there was a curiosity in Brahma Ji to know about himself, who he is, how, and when he was born. To get an answer to all these questions, Brahma Ji started the rigorous penance of Parambrahma. Pleased with the penance of Brahma Ji, Parabrahma Vishnu appeared.
Tears of happiness flowed from Brahma Ji’s eyes upon seeing Vishnuji in front of him. Lord Vishnu was very impressed by the devotion of Lord Brahma. Amla tree was produced from the tears of Lord Brahma. After this, Vishnu said that I will be very fond of the Amla tree and Amla produced by your tears and on the day of Amalaki Ekadashi, whoever worships the Amla tree, all his sins will be destroyed, and he will get salvation.
